Meet Mrs. Frierson - your UMS Library Media Specialist
I began my career as an English Language Arts teacher and coach. I received my Bachelor
of Science in Education from Texas Tech University and my Masters from Texas A&M Commerce.
After teaching for 16 years, I decided to go back to school and get my degree
in Library Science from North Texas University.
I came to Rockwall ISD in 2009 and helped open Utely Middle School. It is a wonderful place to work, and I enjoy meeting your children and getting to know each of them.
I am married and have 2 daughters, both who graduated from Rockwall HS and Texas A&M. I also am
the proud "parent" of Murphy and Eli - our two sweet dogs.

The UMS Library has over 14,000 books, magazines, and reference materials. We also have a wide selection of eBooks and audiobooks. There are 14 student computers for students to work on
homework, research, or search for a book.
The students also enjoy coming into the library to play games, work on puzzles, or play checkers or
chess. The library is a very busy place before school, at lunch and after school with students
working on projects, checking out books, and just relaxing with their peers.
Teachers schedule the library to bring in classes to checkout books, research, learn library/research
skills, watch book trailers, or work on projects.
Students are able to checkout 4 books at a time for 2 weeks at a time. If a student needs the book
for a longer period, the book may be renewed.
Students may print homework assignments in the library for no charge.
